

I am a Senior Researcher at the Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology – IBICT <www.ibict.br>, and professor at the Post-Graduate Programme in Information Science <www.ppgci.ufrj.br>, developed by IBICT and the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro – UFRJ. I am a CNPq Senior Researcher (PQ 1) and a member of the CNPq Advisory Committee (CA) for Information Science and Museology (2017-2020). Since 2004, I coordinate the Interdisciplinary Laboratory on Information and Science Studies – Liinc, and I am the editor of Liinc em Revista, a scientific open access journal.

I have led a Research Programme on Open Science and Citizen Innovation with the participation of researchers from different backgrounds and institutions, undergraduate, Master, PhD and Pos-Doc students. In this Program, we have developed research projects, published articles and books, participated and organized scientific events and courses (see our videos at <https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCck3nf3gX28YMmd0bM3TlDg>). I coordinated the action-research project “Social development from open and collaborative science communities” (2015-2017), as part of the OCSDNet  – Open and Collaborative Science in Development Network, funded by the IDRC/Canada and UKAid.
